Welcome to Mod 2 DXIers! We hope you had wonderful Fall Breaks and Career treks and are ready to take on the rest of this semester. To kick us off we have resources, events and more that will add a little design to your Fall. Let's dive in:

Design classes at GU

Many of you have asked us about expanding your knowledge of design. There are many courses offered on the internet including in Coursera and LinkedIn Learning. As well as two resources recommended by practitioners:

- NovoEd
- Google Ventures Sprint

But if you want to use those elective credits, we've search the GU Course catalog and found two classes for your Spring 2023 semester:

- PPOL 679 - Human Centered Design: This class has a strong policy and tech focus, while also touching upon the basics of Design Thinking.
- CCTP 820 - Leading by Design: A course for students who want to participate as thought leaders in any career path by learning systems design thinking.
- CCTP 531 - Prototyping & Designing in a Makerspace: This focuses on the importance of having makerspaces and how they are used to design solutions for probles across all areas. Plus you get to use the Gtown Maker Hub.

Design Thinking with Arty Rivera

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Design Thinking workshop with Arty Rivera, Head of Product Design at Bloomberg Government and Co-Founder of Design Thinking DC. We had a great time asking questions, bouncing off ideas and eating some delicious tacos. We were really impressed with the participation and engagement.

As promised here is Arty's presentation for the workshop. Please be mindful to not share it outside MSB and always credit its use. Access here

Stay on the lookout for our next event!

Save the Date!

Join us for our next Design event A Fireside Chat: MBA Careers & Design Thinking on
Monday, 14th of November at 5:15 p.m.

We'll host a conversation about ways to incorporate human-centered design in potential post-MBA careers. Whether you're pursuing a career in design thinking or think you'll need some of these methodologies in your post MBA role (think tech, brand management, product management, consulting etc.)

Look out for the formal RSVP link soon.

Join us for our first volunteering event!

We've joined forces with the Business & Government Alliance (BGA), the Healthcare Business Alliance (HBA) and the Georgetown Real Estate Society (GRES) to build trail mix kits for Martha's Table. Get your creative juices flowing to make the most innovative trail mix mixes!

Also because we are a new club we need at least 5 members to attend. Come and help us become official.
