Important Rules and Guidelines

What you do on Consulting Day affects the reputation of McDonough School of Business MBAs, which has long-term consequences for all of us even after we graduate. It is therefore important to follow the rules and guidelines given here.

Event Purpose

  • Consulting Day is meant to be an informational event.
  • DO: Explore career paths, understand the industry and practices, and build your network.
  • DON'T: Distribute resumes, solicit interviews, and demand internships.

Assignments and Attendance

  • By signing up for Consulting Day, you are expected to be present and punctual.
  • DO: Attend all your assigned sessions, even if you did not get your top choices, or if you are an international student and the firm does not hire internationals.
  • DON'T: Skip or be late to your assigned sessions. You will not be allowed to enter if you are late. You will risk expulsion from the GCC and be disbarred from future events if you fail to attend.

Attire and Behavior

  • Consulting Day is a professional event.
  • DO: Dress in business formal attire. Wear your name tag. Be respectful, engaged, positive, and authentic. It is a long day, so avail yourselves of the provided coffee and refreshments.
  • DON'T: Dominate the conversation or discuss inappropriate topics. Behave in an unprofessional manner.
